You’ll notice many public art installations around the city and develop a feel for the varying precincts surrounding the CBD. This evening, enjoy the company of your fellow travellers over a delicious meal.

Day 2: Perth to Geraldton

Travel north this morning along the West Australian coastline, stopping in Yanchep National Park to enjoy a fascinating Aboriginal cultural experience in an authentic bush setting. Continue along the coast to the seaside hamlet of Lancelin and then to Nambung National Park, home of the marvellous Pinnacles, a stunning series of intriguing limestone formations. Explore the seaside township of Geraldton and visit the evocative HMAS Sydney memorial.

Day 3: Geraldton to Monkey Mia

Travel to Hamelin Pool this morning to discover a unique colony of Stromatolites, described as the earliest record of life on earth. Close by is Shell Beach, formed from billions of coquina bivalve shells in banks up to ten metres deep. Continue to the crystal blue waters and pristine beaches of Monkey Mia, your home for the next two nights.

Day 4: Monkey Mia

After a leisurely breakfast overlooking the tranquil turquoise waters of the bay, watch as the famous Monkey Mia dolphins swim into shore to be fed. (Note: As the dolphins are wild creatures, their appearance cannot be guaranteed). Later today, enjoy your choice of two included sightseeing experiences. You may like to join an evening Indigenous experience or unwind on a bay cruise.

Day 5: Monkey Mia to Carnarvon

Today we make the scenic journey north to Carnarvon, visiting the town’s Space and Technology Museum with plenty of time to explore.

Day 6: Carnarvon to Exmouth

Your destination today is Exmouth, on the spectacular waters of the Cape Range National Park. Visit Coral Bay and cruise over World Heritage listed Ningaloo Reef in a glass-bottomed boat. Vlaming Head Lighthouse offers stunning views over Lighthouse Bay, and on arrival into Exmouth, enjoy a tour of the township with your Travel Director. Tonight’s accommodation is just metres from the water of beautiful Exmouth Gulf.

Day 7: Exmouth (free time)

Today is yours for exploration of the Exmouth area at your leisure. Swim alongside gargantuan Whale Sharks in the pristine waters of the Ningaloo Marine Park, or just take a stroll along the beach or relax by the hotel pool overlooking the Gulf.

Day 8: Exmouth to Karratha

Take one last look over Lighthouse Bay before journeying north to Western Australia’s famous Pilbara region. Known for its rich cultural heritage, brilliant red earth and vast mineral deposits, the region’s diverse landscapes will fascinate you.

Day 9: Karratha to Karijini

Enjoy a guided tour of Rio Tinto’s massive open-cut iron-ore mine with its enormous machinery and gigantic transport vehicles. Then journey into the depths of the Pilbara to Karijini National Park. Located in the majestic Hamersley Ranges, Karijini is famous for the pristine beauty of its deep gorges, secluded emerald rock-pools and towering ice-blue waterfalls. Relax on the deck of your safari-style eco-tent this evening and watch the sun set before drifting off to sleep to the calming sounds of the wilderness.

Day 10: Karijini National Park to Port Hedland

This morning we discover more of Karijini. Explore Fortescue Falls at Dale’s Gorge and perhaps take a walk to one of the park’s magnificent rock-pools. Later, take the road to Port Hedland, a natural deepwater harbour and hub for major resource activity. Tonight, enjoy dinner at your hotel.

Day 11: Port Hedland to Broome

Head north this morning, skirting the fringes of the Great Sandy Desert and crossing vast pastoral leases and Aboriginal homelands.
